Well, ShadowCat-X is in a carniverous mood tonight. At our local luckies store she bought 2 HUGE (as in 20oz or bigger) ribeye steaks. She left it to me to prepare the rub.. or, in this case, Marinade. I ran across this on allrecipes.com and am giving it a try.
INgredients:
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon hickory flavored liquid smoke
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon minced onion
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar.
Directions: PUt it all in a bag and shake, then add steaks. At least 30 minutes before cooking (I put it in hours in advance.)
I'll let you know how it all turns out. It's so cool, I actually had all the ingredients for this in my kitchen! Many thanks to Vargr and his idea's on what spices and stuff should be in a well stocked kitchen! *giggle*
*grins* Isn't it great to think of something like, "I bet this would really be good with some XXXX in it?" and just reach over and add it in? Really keeps those creative cooking juices bubbling!
This sounds like a very nice marinade! Looking forward to hearing how it turned out!
