Popular (No New Posts) Ham and Mushroom Rice Casserole w/Veg
Curry flavor is the first to hit, mellowed with the honey from spiral sliced ham, and sweet Videlia onions. Garlic & Mustard are savory backing, and a variety of veg brings complexity. Easy to make, too!

Popular (No New Posts) Boston-style baked beans from scratch
Sweet, molasus style beans from scratch. Takes a while to make, but worth it. You can speed the process by using canned white beans instead of dried if you're in a hurry.

Popular (No New Posts) Vargr's spicy Sausage, Red beans, and Rice - Pressure Cooker version
First "trial run" of the new pressure cooker. This turned out to be immensely flavorful, with a moderate heat. Not enough to raise a sweat, but puts a bit of a burn on the tongue. And the beans were soft and tender. Delightful!

Popular (No New Posts) Bacon-Fried Green Beans w/Shallots and Ham
A spur-of-the-moment invention prompted by some lovely garden-fresh green beans found at a local produce market. The resulting beans still have their garden-fresh snap and flavors, but are a bit more tender, and coated with a savory, flavorful glaze.

Powerful flavors, lots of heat, but not overwhelming. But easily "kicked up" if you want even more heat. Takes a bit of time to prep, but very worth it.

A very light, refreshing, Summer-time salad with some interesting fruity flavors. Lots of options also make this a very flexible recipe to adjust flavors and keep it "new" and different, if you wish.

Two different "wraps" (Thai peanut and SouthWest flavored), and a light and sweet curried sauce with seedless grapes and Jicama. Wondertul as appeitizers, pot luck treats, and the Curried Grape & Chicken is especially nice for a Summer BBQ.

Popular (No New Posts) "Traditional" sweet "KC" style BBQ Chicken
A more traditional, saucy, sticks on your fingers style BBQ Chicken. Still easy to make, but a few more steps than the Savory Italian one, and you get to mix your own spice rub for it. Also uses an over-night brine to add flavor and juiciness.

Popular (No New Posts) "Dump" Chicken Recipes
These are called "Dump" chicken because you "dump" all the ingredients into a 1 Gallen freezer bag and freeze until ready to cook. Then you thaw them overnight and "dump" them into the slow cooker or cassarole dish to cook. Super easy!

Popular (No New Posts) Buffet Breakfast Casserole for large groups
This hearty and flavorful dish can be made in a single electric skillet, making it perfect of "pot luck" or breakfast buffets. Meat, potatoes, veggies, and eggs all in a single dish. Got rave reviews (and folks going for 2nds & 3rds) at our last potluck.
